Poralu buys EDDS Poralu Marine joined forces with EDDS Design, an agency specialising in industrial design and product innovation. The company played a major part in creating Poralu’s Premium pontoon range. from 15 amp single phase to 63 amp threephase. The XL has undergone many changes over the years including recently complying with all UL approvals for sale within the USA and regaining its 357U and 3025N2 yellow card status. All M-Tech pedestals hold the same UL ratings and are licensed for sale in any country. • The Atlantis service pedestal, the newest addition to the Maricer product portfolio, further strengthened the company’s order book for 2016 and secured Maricer the prestigious contract for the St Katharine Docks redevelopment. The product is easily installed in new or existing decked pontoons/docks to sit flush with the decking. Manufactured from solid stainless steel polished trim with nylon deck boards, the product contains 15ft (4.6m) of premium nylon dock line and an internal line lock mechanism, and is bolted to three deck boards with eight stainless steel bolts. The user lifts the line lock latch, pulls out the line, ties off and closes the latch. • US company Accmar launched Ikatere. Available in marine grade aluminium or stainless steel, the pedestal comes in either white or bronze as standard or with custom colours. Lifting and launching • Golden Boat Lifts introduced a custom-built product called Golden Deck Lift that offers dual benefits; secure 360°access to a floating vessel and above-water boat storage. Boaters simply follow the guide posts into the slip and press a button to raise the lift. The lift then secures the boat or PWC between custom-fitted bunks. Water instantly drains through the grated material. • HydroHoist Marine Group released a PWC docking platform called HP Extreme. It is fully roller-supported utilising high performance 5in x 2in (127mm x 51mm) rollers. Roller width and placement are easily adjustable to accommodate different craft. The HP Extreme is one of several new products that HydroHoist brought to the market in 2016. Other examples include a twovalve boatlift control unit, a boatlift designed specifically for saltwater use and a new boat and dock protection package. • US company Cellofoam received good reviews for its ‘float on, float off’ kayak launching innovation ‘permalaunch’.
