BOATYARD & DRY STORAGE Hoists for home and export markets With orders in progress or deliveries completed for leading UK marina chains such as MDL Marinas, Premier Marinas and Yacht Havens Group, Yorkshire-based Wise Handling continues to maintain a strong foothold on its home market. “We’ve just delivered a new machine to Troon Yacht Haven in Scotland and are working on an order for Partington Marine in Pwllheli, Wales,” managing director Barrie Sutcliffe told Marina World. Other highlights in the UK include delivery of a Wise W20 hoist with remote control (inset right) to Ridge Wharf Yacht Centre & Boat Yard on the River Frome near Poole Harbour. The company, which has 170 moorings and extensive hardstand and wintering facilities, was looking to replace its 41-year-old Wise machine; still in full working order but lacking the benefits of modern technology. Export sales have long formed an essential part of Wise Handling’s business planning, and deliveries are far reaching. “We’ve secured four more orders in France, have three machines due for commissioning in the Middle East and have hoists in build for customers in Thailand and Australia,” Sutcliffe confirmed. The package includes an 80 ton mobile lift, 60 ton self-propelled trailer and galvanised boat stands. The equipment is now an integral part of Harbour West’s marina operations, which have been transformed in the past year with the construction of a new haul-out and storage location. The 80 ton lift gives Harbour West one of the largest lift capacities in the region. Radio remote control operation provides maximum safety and efficiency while diesel power and quality components ensure economical and reliable operation. The 60 ton self-propelled trailer features four-wheel steering, which allows the marina to maximise storage capacity at its indoor facility. The trailer can haul powerboats and cradled sailboats and can be operated by remote control allowing the operator to always be in the best position for safe operation. Galvanised boat storage stands in a range of sizes allow the marina to place and store boats safely and quickly.
