CLEAN WASTEWATER

CLEAN WASTEWATER DISPOSAL PierPump – Trouble-free disposal of waste and bilge water from boats and yachts. When installing a wastewater management system harbor operators have to make several decisions depending on the location, number of berths and size to find the optimal system. The Vogelsang PierPump is a customer-oriented high-performance solution, which is easy to operate and allows bilge water or black water to be pumped directly into the sewage system. The integrated rotary lobe pump means that the PierPump is resistant to foreign matter, so that the vacuum extraction process does not come to stop if the wastewater contains foreign matter. Wastewater tanks are vacuum extracted in a very short time, and the voyage can continue. VOGELSANG LEADING IN TECHNOLOGY vogelsang.info

WORLD NEWS Superyacht charter promo boosts lock-down holiday plans AUSTRALIA: Superyacht Australia, the peak body for the Australian superyacht industry, hosted the 2021 Superyacht Australia Soirée in partnership with Benetti Yachts at Jones Bay Marina, Sydney Harbour, on 27 th February. With international travel not permitted and foreign flagged cruise ships unable to operate, many families are considering chartering a yacht to cruise or celebrate important milestones. Destination marina opens in Abu Dhabi UAE: Al Qana Marina, the 105-berth marina set within the Al Qana development in Abu Dhabi, has been completed. Boat owners can sign up for a membership scheme and select berths for vessels up to 65ft (20m). Features include 24-hour security and vessel monitoring. Fouad Mashal, CEO of Al Qana developer Al Barakah International Investment, said: “The marina is a fitting addition to Al Qana, the full-service waterfront entertainment and dining destination. The prime location of the project is adjacent to neighbouring five-star hotels making Al Qana Marina accessible for both residents and tourists.” Fortunately, with the passing of the Special Recreational Vessel (SRV) Act in December 2019, international superyachts can also enter Australia and provide additional capacity into this booming market. The Soirée concept commenced last year in celebration of the passing of the SRV Act and has now launched a successful annual platform to showcase the superyacht industry in Sydney and promote charters to Australian destinations. This year, visitors were able to view an impressive display of eight superyachts along Jones Bay Wharf. Superyacht Australia CEO, David Good, said: “Australia has the largest domestic fleet in Asia Pacific. It has grown by over 30% in the last 12 months. The Soirée provided the perfect opportunity to view some of the finest vessels anywhere in the world. Currently, without overseas holidays and international cruises, yacht charter is the best way to experience amazing parts of Australia in true comfort and luxury.” Al Qana marina manager, Andrew Savill, added: “Al Qana’s marina will present a sophisticated, modern and elegant experience for yacht owners and families to eat, drink and soak up the sun with a spectacular view of Abu Dhabi’s iconic skyline. The destination is super chic and will be frequented by individuals and families.” Al Qana was said to be 90% complete at the end of 2020 and spans a stretch of 2.4km (1.5mi). Components include The National Aquarium – the largest in the Middle East; Al Qana Cinema; and The Bridge Wellness hub. SUCCESSFUL WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT STARTS WITH LASTING INFRASTRUCTURE.
