Swede Ship buys Sublift Swede Ship Marine has acquired the Sublift boat hoist operation and formed a new company called Swede Ship Sublift AB. Early deliveries of hoists from its yard at Djupvik on the island of Tjörn for customers in Sweden and Norway have already taken place. Renowned for building high quality boats of 10 to 30m in steel, aluminium and composites, the company has three bases in Sweden: Swede Ship Yacht Service in Gothenburg; Swede Ship Composite in Hunnebostrand; and the yard in Djupvik that offers repair, service and engine replacement services. Sublift owes its origins to the Swedish ‘Slamkryparen’ or ‘Mudskipper’. It features a special submersible function to launch or retrieve boats from the water onto a slipway and then to or from a storage location. Each Sublift is a compact, hydraulically-controlled machine that represents a low investment cost when compared to crane and tractor combinations. Four models are available offering lifting capacity of 12, 25, 40 and 75 tons. Enjoying a good reputation for safe handling of boats, all Sublift hoists easily adapt to different hull widths and can handle both sail and power vessels. Operation is via wireless control and manoeuvrability is excellent, especially in confined spaces. Swede Ship Sublift provides full training on how to run and manage the hoist for docking, launching and efficient boat parking. The company can also assist in the design of ramps and investigations of seafloor conditions for slipways. Over 170 boat hoists have been delivered to date to yacht clubs, commercial marinas and governments around the world. plans for the Incheon Port marina in South Korea.
