PRODUCTS & SERVICES Pedestal replacement during COVID downtime “Whilst the spring COVID-19 lockdown and subsequent restrictions had a very negative impact on the running of Braunston Marina in 2020, they came with an unforeseen silver lining,” says Tim Coghlan, managing director of Braunston Marina, Daventry, England. “With the marina largely empty of boaters, we were able to carry out a major programme of repairs and upgrades, with large sections of the marina simply shut down whilst those works were being carried out.” The major task was to complete the first two phases of a fourphase programme to replace all the electricity bollards – some of which were installed by Rolec Services nearly 25 years ago. Braunston Marina returned to Rolec and selected LED illuminated Classic service pedestals with aluminium composite blue outer casings, between two and four 16 amp lockable sockets and water taps. Phases three and four are scheduled for this spring, which will bring the total of new pedestals to 74. The old bollards have been donated to small boatyards that work with the marina where, Coghlan says, “they will no doubt see another 25 years of service.” www.rolecserv.com Completing phase two on 18th December 2020, called for a champagne celebration. Superyacht owners, guests, captains and crew will have access to round-theclock medical assistance, which may be provided by video conference, onsite or through a doctor’s visit to the vessel. The agreement also covers transfer by ambulance to a Quirónsalud hospital in the city, should it be necessary, and premium care until arrival at the health centre. This includes special attention and accompaniment throughout the process by a person who also sees to all the paperwork with the client’s insurance company, should he or she have one. The healthcare service is offered in up to 12 languages. www.marinaworld.com – March/April 2021 55
