Marina focus at Metstrade 2021 As November draws closer, plans are being finalised to develop a range of marina-specific attractions at Metstrade 2021, 16 th -18 th November, Amsterdam. Regular visitors and exhibitors will find themselves in a new Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) location – just for 2021. Because of COVID-19 protocols, the entire show will encompass Halls 1-7 of the Europa Complex at RAI Amsterdam, and the MYP will be positioned in the Elicium. All will be clearly signposted but MYP visitors should head for Entrance D and try not to be too diverted by a visit to the ever-popular Harbour Sushi Club en route… As of end August, over 50 exhibitors had signed up for the MYP but for 2021 we will see a first pavilion within a pavilion. The French Marine Industry Association, FIN, has organised a dedicated MYP French Pavilion. This is not only well supported by exhibitors but is an attraction for a special group of visitors from the island of Corsica. The Corsican delegation, according to the Metstrade team, is on a mission to develop a blue economy via innovation and environmentally sound planning. Representatives from organisations such as the Corsican Economic Development Agency and Corsican Port Authority are keen to discuss best business practices with professionals from other countries and talk about investment and cooperation with like-minded institutions and entrepreneurs. Sharing information, catching up on long overdue face-to-face networking, as well as eyeing up new products is particularly important for 2021. “The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a boating boom in many leisure marine markets,” says Metstrade director Niels Klarenbeek. “We learn that marinas all over the world see an increasing demand for berth space. On the other hand, boaters are increasingly demanding when it comes to comfort and service level offered at their marina. Port authorities, owners and real estate developers should visit the Marina & Yard Pavilion as it is the place to be to find the latest developments in marina equipment, products and services.” Outside of the MYP, marina professionals should take note of the Superyacht Forum (15 th -17 th November) and events organised by HISWA- RECRON, the Global Marina Institute and the NMEA. Metstrade TV live will be operating from its studio on the show floor, hosting a wide variety of programmes over the three days. These will include a daily morning show, interviews with leading lights in the industry, expert panel discussions and live TechTalks. One of these – at 2.00pm on Wednesday 17 th – is a discussion co-hosted by Marina World and led by Oscar Siches on the topic ‘Taking Drystack to the Next Level’. Everyone can also benefit from the new Metstrade Connect virtual platform, whether visiting the show in person or online. Access this for EVENTS practical information to help prepare for your visit, browse exhibitor profiles, set up appointments, and much more.
